Do you want a special environment for arranging birthdays, family get-togethers, friends’ parties, company events or the like?
Flåderhytta consists of an open wooden lavvu with a large barbecue area, fireplace and cozy mingling area, as well as an intimate log cabin. In the log cabin there is a solid long table, benches and fireplace, where you can enjoy good meals. Up to 18 people can be seated at the long table; a great venue for a small group!
In the mingling area, it is nice to barbeque together, while the fireplace in the background creates an extra atmosphere.
We can also offer you food from the excellent kitchen of Boen Gård, that was in the Michelin-guide this year. The menu will be based upon ingredients of the season.
We are open during the summer, from 1st of May to 30th of September.
Flåderhytta, the kitchen and the bathrooms can be rented for parties or other events when the lavvus are not rented to other guests.

The common area includes a service building with a kitchen, which maintains the standard of a commercial kitchen. Here you can make / prepare food for the event, order catering or have your own chef. If you wish, we can be helpful in arranging contact with a chef.
Flåderhytta was built as a memorial to the timber floating in the area, which took place from about the 16th century to the early 1980s. Grete’s great-grandfather and grandfather were both “walking bosses”, responsible for controlling the log drive. -The roof of the wooden lavvu rests on six large «posts» with river stones on top, and between the «posts» various types of log booms are attached. The «posts» illustrate the large boom houses that stood in lake Flakksvann and held log booms in place. The function of these log barriers was to guide the timber in the right direction in lake Flakksvann. You can still see an old boom house in the lake, and there are several remains of boom mounts along the water. The log cabin contains photos, information, and objects from the timber floating, so here you are surrounded by an exciting cultural history!
The common area includes a service building with a kitchen, which maintains the standard of a commercial kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, pots, dishwasher, large refrigerator, kitchen utensils, waffle iron, coffee maker, kettle, crockery, serving dishes and bowls, glasses, and cutlery. There are also common basic items such as sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, coffee, and tea. -In addition to the kitchen, there are three bathrooms in the service building. One of these is wheelchair accessible.
The common area also consists of a swimming area, an idyllic seating area right at the water’s edge where you can enjoy the last rays of the sun, a «quay» where you can launch the canoes, and a wood-fired hot tub.
Camp Flakksvann tilbyr en annerledes ferieopplevelse i rustikk friluftscamp med luksuriøs overnatting i tre lavvoer. Campen ligger i naturskjønne omgivelser ved nydelige Flakksvann i Birkenes kommune. Tovdalselva og Digeelva, med flotte fosser og stryk og med mulighet for laksefiske, omkranser campen.
